Terms and Conditions


We accept returns back for either refunds or exchanges:

If you are returning your order for exchange you will need to enclose a cheque for £4.50(£6.50 for transformers or £9.50 for motors) to cover return postage and packaging (Made payable to JM Upholstery Ltd.) or we can call you over the phone for card payment. To save this extra charge you can email us before-hand for help on identifying which part(s) you need. (we do not refund postage to post back to us)

Your order returned to us must be in the same new condition as originally sent out for resale, if any damage to the part(s) returned we can still refund you but less a cost to cover this.
if we have sent you a in-correct part in our error on identifying which part you need, we will exchange/refund fully at no cost to you, however we do not have a returns label available to collect a return from customer to us, in all circumstances returns and exchanges will be at the cost of customer.
For all orders wanting to be returned for a refund due to changing your mind or the part not required etc, we have a 14 days returns policy for this.
Please return a copy of invoice with your order or a note with order number, reason for return and the part you need if known.
Please send all returns back to address shown on bottom of invoice ( our returns and distribution address )

Non returnable products include - internal mechanism bars such as drive bar, tort bar and stabiliser bars, and all springs.
For a return request of an alleged incorrect part sent, we WILL require photos of the original part and the one sent for us to identify the error(s) made.
Motor Returns - as with all our products motors can be returned but if the reason for return if refund there will be a 15% handling / restocking fee, if motor being returned for exchange, i.e a handset or transformer was at fault instead and this is being swapped over then there will be no handling fee. (this refund fee only applies to motors)
Rechargeable Products - with Lithium battery rechargeable products, we can only offer a 28 days guarantee on due to the sensitivity of its use, these need to be charged in the correct way as per the notice enclosed with the product - for full details do contact us before ordering. 

please note: we advise returns to be sent via recorded / signed for as in some cases they can obviously be mis placed in our returns area and the tracking details from yourselves will able us to honour the return.

- If you see this logo on a product you are wanting to order then this is kept in stock available with NEXT DAY delivery
- If you see this logo on a product you are wanting to order then this is a SPECIAL ORDER, delivery is usually between 2-5 days.

NEXT DAY DELIVERY- is only available in the U.K and excludes Ireland and scotland, also excludes Special Order parts.(these excluded area codes will be posted 1st class recorded royal mail, usually 2-5 working days but can take up to 10 days delivery) This excludes Bank holidays and weekends. OUR NEXT DAY DELIVERY SERVICE IS AT NO EXTRA CHARGE TO YOU, if in very rare circumstances there is a problem and the next day delivery fails this is not refundable, as we use APC overnight courier services which we cannot be responsible for [example-delivery driver sicknesses/road closures or any unforeseen circumstances to delaying delivery]. please note, on some occasions our courier may come slightly earlier or later than scheduled. later, resulting in any orders placed after 2 possibly up to 4pm may still be delivered next day, and earlier resulting in next day delivery applying to orders up to when the courier arrives which wont be earlier than 1.30 pm.
If you have not received your order next day you have up to 10 days to report this for us to be liable and send out a replacement.

GUARANTEE- we do give a year guarantee on electrical parts, only if complete set of electrics are being replaced, therefore can only give 28 days to return or exchange a electrical part ordered from us, this is due to mixing with older used parts which could have faults, and lead to shorting the new part supplied by us.

If you need to claim a part under the guarantee, only the purchase price of the Product will be at no cost, should you require fitting of this replacement(s) there will be additional charges for the services of a call out from a technician to fit.

SPECIAL ORDERS- some special order parts are non refundable(Dewert, made to order parts, ordered in specially etc..) others may incur a 15% handling charge/re-stocking fee if you have simply changed your mind, as most of the time we will have alternative replacements available if direct part is no longer produced. special order parts can take between 3-7 working days for delivery. all special order parts have a notice in the product description. any parts returned back not in the same working re-sellable condition will not be refundable and sent back to you.

-We cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury that may be caused from the use of any products purchased from our website. 
-You must take care when fitting parts ordered from us or in some cases seek qualified help if you are not confident that you can fit them yourself safely. (we do have a nationwide fitting team in which we can assist for fitting of all parts we sell). Parts Supplied may differ slightly on rare occasions to the image online, three examples of this: 1) the spring colour of a manual recliner cable online may be black and the one sent may be silver, 2) an Electric handset online may be of slightly different design i.e buttons smaller or bigger, this being down to the suppliers changing there spec slightly and 3) a transformer online may be of a certain shape and due to the supplies change of spec over the years this may be smaller as improvements are made, labeling can also be of a different manufacture than to the ones stated in product description.
-Note all photos are of the products you will
receive if ordered, however at times there may be changes to the manufactures spec of how a product is made, this can relate to the outer shape design of a component also location of connectors(example pin connectors built in a motor rather than on a short lead end) or fixing points of a part (example the number of holes and location of the screw holes on a handle to fix to the wooden framework can vary).
-depending on the stock we have available at times an alternative version to the same spec may be supplied, there can be a few examples to this, of which 2 are: 6mm hole handle sent in place of a 3mm hole handle as a universal type to suit(tried and tested successfully) also, location of the handset on a motor may be built into the head of the motor rather than a small lead running from the motor with this connector on.  .
